Michael Myers goes on a killing spree in new Halloween trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have unleashed a new trailer for HALLOWEEN that gives fans of The Shape a look at his rather methodical killing methods for the upcoming sequel. In the footage, we see Michael moving from house to house, dispatching neighbors as sort of a warm up for the big game, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Directed by David Gordon Green, HALLOWEEN picks up four decades after the events of the original film, with Laurie poised and ready to go toe-to-toe with the masked killer that terrorized her on that dark and murderous Halloween night. This time around, Judy Greer will step onto the scene as Karen Strode, Laurie's daughter, while ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK alumna Andi Matichak will portray Allyson, Laurie's granddaughter.

If you ask me, this trailer has the movie looking like a worthy addition to the long-running franchise, though we'll know for sure when HALLOWEEN makes its TIFF debut later this week. Written by Green alongside Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the film is said to have no plans of exploring Michael's origin or motivation, but will instead present him as the mysterious, silent slasher we all know and love.

Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments section below. HALLOWEEN will arrive in theaters on October 19th.
