Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day to reteam with their Horrible Bosses director for One Night on the Hudson

On the heels of the HORRIBLE BOSSES team reuniting for a sequel, we have word that director Seth Gordon will be pulling two of those stars, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, for a new project called ONE NIGHT ON THE HUDSON. The film will follow his most recent box office success, IDENTITY THIEF. The project is based on a script by T.J. Fixman who has primarily worked in scripting video games.

The comedy would follow a by-the-books rookie cop on his first night on the job and his jaded veteran partner. The pair are tasked with transporting a federal witness from New Jersey to Manhattan. The only things standing between them: dirty cops, dirty criminals and the Hudson River.

I liked HORRIBLE BOSSES, but I didn’t love it. I found myself laughing, but thought the movie was no better than most of the comedies released in the last few years. The best part of the movie was the bosses, especially Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell. IDENTITY THIEF was funny, but a step down from HORRIBLE BOSSES. The chemistry between the leads is what made BOSSES work so well, so taking Sudeikis and Day and pushing them to the forefront is a good choice in my opinion.

No release date is set, but I would imagine it would follow HORRIBLE BOSSES 2, so expect it sometime in 2014 or later.
