Kate Micucci, Sam Huntington & Dan Harmon to star in Corpse Tub comedy film

Company X and MarVista Entertainment have attached Kate Micucci (DUCKTAILS, THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE), Sam Huntington (ROSEWOOD, DETROIT ROCK CITY) and Dan Harmon (COMMUNITY, HARMONQUEST) to star in CORPSE TUB, a dark comedy film helmed by Vivieno Caldinelli (MY PAL SATAN) and based on a script written by Christopher Hewitson, Justin Jones, and Clayton Hewitson.

CORPSE TUB will tell the tale of a young Midwestern couple (Micucci, Huntington) who take a chance on moving to L.A. when they find an apartment with impossibly low rent. It’s soon revealed that the former occupant was an enigmatic cult leader (Taika Waititi) who ended his life in the claw-foot bathtub. Now, a steady stream of his eccentric cult members break into the apartment to kill themselves in the tub in honor of their leader. Unable to afford another move, they soon find themselves inexplicably drawn into the cult, all the while navigating the inquiries of a beleaguered LAPD detective (Harmon) obsessed with selling a screenplay based on his own life.

And just like that, the bizarre title of this film totally makes sense.Supporting the top-lining trio for the film will be an impressive list of comedic actors including: Waititi, Maria Bamford, Mark McKinney, Rhea Seehorn, Brian Posehn, Dana Gould, Josh Brener, J Lee, Brian Girard, Lilan Bowden, Jon Dore, Mindy Sterling, Michael St. Michaels, Craig Cackowski, Britney Young, Ryan Simpkins and Ron Lynch. Production on the project was made possible by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Lisa Whalen, Michael Moran, and Pat McErlean while Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew and Stacy Jorgensen acted as the films executive producers.

CORPSE TUB sounds pretty wild to me. With cult-related comedies like LITTLE EVIL and CRAZYHEAD and DIRK GENTLY'S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY having been in the media spotlight as of late, it would appear that shared lunacy can sometimes make for a whole lot of laughs. Keep it here for more details concerning CORPSE TUB as they're announced.
