Casting Round-Up: Sam Rockwell leads The Eel and Harrison Ford joins Blake Lively in Age of Adaline

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

To close out the evening, I have two pieces of casting dealing with two great actors.

First up is Sam Rockwell who will reteam with his THE WAY WAY BACK producers Kevin Walsh, Nax Faxon and Jim Rash for THE EEL.

Faxon and Rash will not do writing or helming duties this time around. Instead, Roberto Bentivegna is directing his script that made the 2012 Black List. The story centers on, “an escaped convict who is ensnared in a plot by a corrupt sheriff to kidnap the young heiress to an oil fortune, complicating his quest for freedom” which definitely sounds like an ideal flick for Rockwell to star in. Shooting begins this Fall.

Though Faxon and Rash are only serving as producers, I urge you to check out THE WAY WAY BACK. Thank me later.

Now on to the next project for the legendary Harrison Ford.

The actor will join Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn in AGE OF ADALINE. Lively plays the role of “the 29-year old Adaline, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the course of the 20th century she embarks on an epic journey, keeping her secret until she meets a man who forever alters her life.”

Details on Ford’s role were not given.

CELESTE & JESSE FOREVER’S Lee Toland Krieger serves as director on the film.
