Seann William Scott Goon: Last of the Enforcers

As someone who was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent sports/comedy GOON, I've been anxiously awaiting the sequel for what has seemed like forever; I've got a poor grasp of time. Production on GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS began close to a year-and-a-half ago in Ontario (JoBlo was right there on set), but little information emerged on when we might get to see the finished product, until now.

Entertainment One and producers No Trace Camping and Caramel Films have announced today that GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS will be released in theaters across Canada on March 17, 2017. Canada, that's where I live! Golly! As for when the sequel will be released stateside, we're not sure, but if the first GOON is any indication, the sequel will likely follow suit the month after. Along with the announcement, a new image from GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS has also emerged.

GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS will see Seann William Scott returning as lovable enforcer Doug “The Thug” Glatt, Liev Schreiber as the iconic Ross “The Boss” Rhea, Marc-André Grondin as superstar Xavier LaFlamme, Kim Coates as Highlanders Coach Ronnie Hortense and Alison Pill as Doug’s love interest, now wife, Eva. Jay Baruchel, who co-wrote and directed the flick, will also return as Pat, Doug’s best friend. GOON newbies include Wyatt Russell as Anders Cain, a young volatile hot shot who becomes Captain of the Halifax Highlanders when a pro lockout suddenly sends a slew of new players down to the minors, and Elisha Cuthbert as Mary, sister and confidante of Eva. There aren't many comedy sequels out there which can hope to equal their predecessors, but I've got my fingers crossed that GOON: LAST OF THE ENFORCERS will be one of them.
