Hamill, Headey & Bradley join the cast of del Toro’s Trollhunters season 2

It's official, my fellow fantasy fans! Mark Hamill and GAME OF THRONES royalty, Lena Headey and David Bradley, have signed on to join the recurring voice cast for Season 2 of Dreamworks and Guillermo del Toro's TROLLHUNTERS!

After signing on the dotted line, the high-profile trio will join the animation's season one cast that features Kelsey Grammer in his Emmy-winning role as Blinky, Ron Perlman (Bular), Steven Yeun (Steve), Anjelica Huston (Queen Ursurna), Jonathan Hyde (Strickler), Amy Landecker (Barbara) and Charlie Saxton (Toby). As a bittersweet bonus, the late Anton Yelchin will remain the voice of the show's lead character, Jim Lake Jr., as the now-deceased actor had completed his recording sessions through season 2.

If you've yet to check out the first season of TROLLHUNTERS, the animation tells the tale of an ordinary boy who finds a magic amulet that turns him into the next Troll Hunter; the champion of both the hidden world of Trolls and his own. In my estimation, the show has something of a STRANGER THINGS vibe to it, in that Jim ventures into a mysterious underground realm where monsters of myth and legend dwell. While Jim and his friends (yes, there are other characters along for the adventure) might not be fighting anything as terrifying as a Demogorgon, there's still plenty of scary creatures to be fearful of when traversing the new and strange territory.

It's being reported that Mark Hamill will voice the unknown older brother of the Trollhunting team but has pledge his loyalty to the evil Gunmar. Lena Headey will voice the role of an extremely powerful and sinister sorceress who must be stopped, whatever the cost. Lastly, David Bradley will take on the role of a mysterious figure known to have great magical powers – but the Trollhunters soon discover that he's not the mystical wizard they'd assumed he'd be. Season two picks up with Jim entering the Darklands by himself, leaving his best friends and fellow Trollhunters, Toby and Claire, behind.

Season 2 of TROLLHUNTERS will premiere on Netflix later this year.
