Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick joins horror comedy Scouts vs Zombies

Arnold Schwarzenegger will be battling the undead in the upcoming MAGGIE, and it looks like his son also wants to get in on some zombie action. Deadline has learned Patrick Schwarzenegger has been cast in SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES as a "popular high school quarterback who is a rival to the boy scout troop." The horror comedy about "three high school Boy Scouts who must use their skills to battle vicious zombies after their small town faces a zombie outbreak" will be directed by Christopher Landon (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES), and also stars Tye Sheridan (MUD), Logan Miller (THE BLING RING) and David Koechner (ANCHORMAN).

Patrick Schwarzenegger hasn't appeared in too many films, but he did have small roles in THE BENCHWARMERS, STUCK IN LOVE and GROWN UPS 2, and also has a part in Kevin Connolly's new film DEAR ELEANOR. While part of me feels like this stinks of stunt casting you'd expect from a shitty made-for-TV movie you'd find on Syfy or a cheesy direct-to-DVD horror movie, I also think SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES could be a fun little flick. Who doesn't want to see a bunch of Boy Scouts being terrorized by zombies, especially if they also have to deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger's son?

Filming for SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES is set to begin on May 8th, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's MAGGIE will likely hit theaters sometime this year.

Like father, like son…
