Feel the nostalgia in the awesomely retro new trailer for Turbo Kid

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Fans of KUNG FURY should be excited to know that another throwback to the 1980s is hitting theaters. The Sundance hit TURBO KID has just released a new domestic trailer and it is something to behold.

Our own Chris Bumbray gave TURBO KID a decent review earlier this year and it is easy to see why it would appeal to a lot of readers of this site. Yeah, it is low budget, but it has 80s mainstay Michael Ironside as the villain along with some retro technology and costume design that should appeal to those who love everything from SOLARBABIES to MAD MAX.

In a post-apocalyptic future, THE KID, a young solitary scavenger obsessed with comic books must face his fears and become a reluctant hero when he meets a mysterious girl named APPLE. Despite their efforts to keep to themselves, ZEUS, the sadistic and self-proclaimed leader of the Wasteland, plagues THE KID and APPLE. Armed with little more than blind faith and an ancient turbocharged weapon, THE KID learns of justice and friendship and embarks on an incredible journey to rid the Wasteland of evil and save the girl of his dreams.

TURBO KID has some serious over-the-top violence but a fun mentality that makes it feel more nostalgic than derivative. I am definitely excited to see this movie when it debuts later this summer. Hopefully we will keep getting to see movies like this.

TURBO KID will get a theatrical and on demand release on August 28th.
