First look at Hotel Transylvania series, premiere date & teaser trailer

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Snark all you want about Adam Sandler's live-action efforts of the past few years, but if you're going to hang out with me, you had best curb your jeers when it comes to the HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA films. That's right, I said it. Straight up, I genuinely adore both films in the franchise, and I'm very excited that Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana and Sony Pictures Animation have announced the details pertaining to the debut of HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE SERIES.

You can check out the all-too-brief but colorfully fun teaser trailer below:

From what I've gathered, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE SERIES will consist of 26 episodes, with each one clocking in at a total run time of 22-minutes a piece. Toronto's Nelvana studio will produce the program which centers on Dracula's daughter, Mavis, and her three closest friends Hank N Stein, Pedro and Wendy Blob. With Dracula away on "Official Vampire Business," Mavis seizes the opportunity to show her father what she can accomplish when he's not beating his bat wings over her shoulder every five minutes.

With the aid of her monster friends, Mavis decides to put some of her brilliant ideas regarding how best to manage the hotel into motion. However, there's just one big, ugly problem, Mavis' Aunt Lydia, Dracula's older and much grumpier sister. While Mavis and her friends are ready to turn the hotel upside down (for the better), Aunt Lydia muscles her way into declaring that more traditional managerial methods are what HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA truly needs.

Blarg! Aunt Lydia sounds like a real pain in the undead ass, if you ask me. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE SERIES is set to scare up its debut on the Disney Channel beginning on Sunday, June 25th at 8pm ET/PT, with new episodes airing every night at 8pm ET/PT through Thursday, June 29th. The first episode will be available on the Disney Channel app, YouTube and VOD on Tuesday, June 20th. The series will air in its regular time slot beginning Sunday, July 9th at 8:30pm ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Ah, but wait, there's more! In addition to the show's official premiere, a presentation of three new shorts will follow Mavis and her dad Drac as he prepares to join the prestigious Vampire Council. These shorts, that will start being distributed on June 4th, will also be available on the Disney Channel app and Disney Channel YouTube.

Recently, Scott Dyer, President of Nelvana, spoke about HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE SERIES when he said, “We are so excited to expand the Hotel Transylvania franchise into television. “We look forward to bringing the prequel to audiences worldwide and to sharing the hilarious adventures of a younger Mavis and her monster pals. As we look to the upcoming launch of the original short Puppy! In theaters this summer and HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3 in 2018, the television series will keep the franchise fresh and the characters will become a part of families’ everyday lives.”

As you can probably tell, I'm really psyched about this new project. I think the HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA series of films are a lot of fun and that there are tons of hilarious stories that can be told using the characters featured in the franchise. I'll have to set my DVR to catch these episodes, and will most likely view them in the mornings before work as I eat my breakfast. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to it.

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE SERIES will debut June 25th at 8pm ET/PT on the Disney Channel, with new episodes airing every night at 8pm ET/PT through Thursday, June 29th. Be sure to grab the little ones and give this new monster mash a go.
