Dan Harmon guests on Game Grumps playing the Cat in the Hat game

I swear this is probably the last Game Grumps related post in a while, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share a video of Dan Harmon playing the CAT IN THE HAT videogame (based on the Mike Myers film) - whether it involved them or not (because, to be fair, I feel Game Grumps are pretty hit-and-miss, honestly). It also appears it's related to the fact that he's...

Rifftrax gets ready for the season with Summer Beach Party Shorts!

For those who don't know, Rifftrax is the project MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER alumni Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy , and Bill Corbett took on after the cancellation of their other movie-riffing show. Since then, they have had many live events, and their newest one is titled SUMMER BEACH PARTY SHORTS, where they take the piss out of bad educational shorts. The normal crew will be...

New cast of MST3k to go on national "Watch Out For Snakes!" live tour

I've made my love of MST3K and the new cast (Jonah Ray, Baron Vaughn, Hampton Yount) before, and am excited to report an upcoming live show featuring the new cast! It'll be a nationwide tour called the "Watch Out For Snakes!" tour, named after a terribly dubbed line in the abysmal caveman-on-the-loose film EEGAH, that's thus become a recurring gag on the show....

Cool Videos: The MST3k bots riff on Netflix shows and read YouTube comments

Yesterday, there was a video of the robots from MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot (Baron Vaughn and Hampton Yount, respectively), trying to pitch their shows to Netflix's Chief Content Officer. Now, we can see them doing what they do best: riff on other movies, or in this case, other Netflix shows: They then read comments on the...

Cool Videos: The bots from MST3k pitch their ideas to Netflix

So I don't know how everyone feels, but I've been really enjoying the newest season of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, the cult sci-fi comedy show about a guy (in this case comedian Jonah Ray) and his two robot pals Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot (played in this iteration by Baron Vaughn and Hampton Yount, respectively) riffing on bad movies. I think some episodes (like CRY WILDERNESS and...

Cool Videos: MST3K Viral Promo finds the crew riffing on Stranger Things

Back in my day , if you weren't watching MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 after school, you'd best find yourself another cafeteria table to sit at the following afternoon. I'm not kidding. Most days, talk about what manner of cinematic torture Joel and the robots were made to endure was one of the only ways my friends and I could survive until that final period alarm...

Rifftrax to take a stab at the awful Samurai Cop movie next month

SAMURAI COP is one of the premiere bad movies, up there with THE ROOM, BIRDEMIC, and FATEFUL FINDINGS. It's nonsensical ( what was up with that nurse scene? ), ridiculous (why call your movie SAMURAI COP when the cop barely does samurai things?), and shoddy (notice how the main character's hair goes from real to a wig in-between scenes). It's abysmal, but still fun to watch....

Mystery Science Theater 3000 blasts off with a spankin', new trailer

Back in Junior High, I used to cool down after a long and boring school day by watching episodes of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 and KIDS IN THE HALL. As someone who loves to watch terrible movies, the setup for MST3K's unique brand of comedy felt like it was tailor-made for me personally and I ate it up like a stack of piping hot pancakes. After 10 seasons (197 episodes) and a...

20 fan-favorite episodes of MST3k will stream on Netflix before new season

I've loved MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 - the show where a guy and two robots make fun of bad movies -  for as long as I can remember. I've said it before, but this airing on Sci-Fi channel (before that SyFy bullshit) early on Saturdays was the only reason I'd wake up in the morning as a kid growing up in the '90s. Hell, my friends and I quote the shows all the time...

MST3k comic-book series on the way

So this is some cool news! In the not too distant future, Dark Horse comics will be developing a new comic-book series based on the cult sci-fi series MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, about a hapless human (Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson, and now Jonah Ray) and their two robot pals (Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo) watching and making fun of terrible movies. Now, there's not much detail...

Rifftrax riffs unreleased film Replica from Birdemic director James Nguyen

Holy shit! Two things I love dearly are coming together to make the constant existential crisis we laughingly refer to as "life" somewhat bearable: Rifftrax is going to be doing an exclusive riff on an unreleased film from director James Nguyen, the mastermind behind the bad movie classic BIRDEMIC. The film is a sci-fi take on Hitchcock's VERTIGO called REPLICA. Here's...

The lost first episodes of MST3k finally found!

This is exciting news for MSTies everywhere! As someone who has professed my love for this amazing show before , I couldn't be more ecstatic! With everything seemingly  going to shit all around us , it's nice to know that at least something positive happened this year. For those who don't know, MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 is a comedy show where a hapless...
