Strangely compelling (and funny) trailer for Open Windows with Sasha Grey and Elijah Wood

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

This is one of the oddest trailers you'll see today, but it's got a few things going for it that may compel you to check it out. For one, Sasha Grey. I say again, Sasha Grey. In addition, you've got Elijah Wood, he of Frodo fame, who has seemed to work rather steadily since hanging up the Hobbit footwear and made a good go of things. Let's face it, Wood isn't going to be leading an action franchise anytime soon, so he's been smart about his choices, taking on roles that fit his stature and persona. With that said, I'd say that Wood is perfectly cast as an internet celebrity stalker in OPEN WINDOWS, a new low-rent thriller from a director named Nacho and co-starring former porn star Sasha Grey. I mean, that right there should have you hooked. If not, have a look at this bad boy…

It's like Hitchcock, but…not:

Here's the synopsis:

Jill, the most exciting actress of the moment, refuses to have dinner with Nick, a fan who won a date with her in an Internet contest organized by the distributor of her latest film. In return, a guy named Chord, posing as Jill's campaign manager, helps Nick to follow in the footsteps of the actress from his own computer. Nick starts a game in which he realizes that he is only a puppet into the manic plans devised by Chord, to hunt down the star.

Pretty ridiculous, no? And yet, I kind of need to see this just to confirm whether or not it's laughably awful and, of course, to see how nude Sasha Grey will get for it. I mean, sure, you could just Google that, but still, a guy's gotta know. If nothing else, OPEN WINDOWS has the potential to be a really fun drinking game movie. Take a drink everytime Elijah Wood appears onscreen with his shirt buttoned all the way up to the collar? Everytime Sasha Grey "acts"? You're drunk in ten, baby!

OPEN WINDOWS does not yet have a U.S. release date, but you can bet it'll be on a DVD rack sometime in the near future, just waiting for you. Keep your eyes peeled.
