New Star Wars Cantina to be the first place to sell booze at Disneyland

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After a long day of hoofing it around a massive theme park, all you need is a hive of scum and villainy you can go to and get your alien drink on. Disneyland’s new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge theme park has got you covered, and Oga’ Cantina will be opening to serve younglings some blue milk and their roguish parents some unique, alien libations (no service to droids, though).

The arrival of the Cantina (as well as a picture) was announced on the Disney Parks blog as a place where “visitors come to this notorious local watering hole to unwind, conduct shady business, and maybe even encounter a friend…or a foe.” This will mark the first time the park will sell alcohol to the public, although it has done so before at the mysterious, private Club 33. Unfortunately, for anyone hoping to see anyone have their arms cut off by a lightsaber or get into a gunfight that will be debated for decades on the internet regarding who shot first the Cantina will have a “strict code of conduct that tries to keep its unruly patrons in check.”

Though Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes won’t be the house band, surely their classic tunes will get a modern spin by the pilot droid RX-24, who will be the establishment’s DJ. This will be the perfect place to wet your whistle on a hot, long day of theme parking, and who knows, maybe you’ll get to see some Stormtrooper bouncers throw out an unruly patron. Some folks just can’t hack it inside Oga’s Cantina.
