While HBO typically gets the lion's share of credit as the cable network putting forth the most quality programming on a consistent basis, Cinemax has been building their stable of series over the years that shouldn't be overlooked. THE KNICK, BANSHEE and STRIKE BACK have all managed to find their following, and now Cinemax hopes that OUTCAST will do the same. Based on Robert Kirkman's Skybound/Image comic of the same name, Cinemax is bringing demonic possession to their Friday night line-up.

OUTCAST stars Patrick Fugit as Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and has sequestered himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Now, with the help of Reverand Anderson (Philip Glenister), a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth, the young man embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.

In an attempt to lure you to the series, Cinemax is giving away the entire first episode to you for free. As of this very moment, there are a number of methods to be able to check out the show, from HBO GO to Max GO to either of the cable networks' on-demand services… but why go on the hunt for the episode titled "A Darkness Surrounds Him" when you can just scroll down and watch it right here on this very page.

You're welcome.

Adam Wingard (THE GUEST) directed this pilot episode you're about to watch, and, if you like what you see, you can set Friday nights at 10 p.m. on your schedule for regular weekly viewing.

OUTCAST premieres on Cinemax on Friday, June 3, but here's the first episode in its entirety two weeks early.
