Sarah Paulson would like to sharpen her claws as Cheetah for Wonder Woman 2

Not long ago, naysayers online would have had you believing that no one was interested in Patty Jenkin's WOMAN WOMAN starring Gal Gadot as DC Entertainment's Amazonian warrior princess. However, upon the action blockbuster's theatrical release, Diana triumphantly marched across the box office battlefield with a total of $821.9 million earned. Not only did this astounding achievement hush the unruly crowd, it got fans very excited for when a sequel would inevitably be announced.

Fast-forward to today, and we've got both Jenkins and Gadot on board to return for WONDER WOMAN 2 in 2019. Of course, with the promise of a new film, fans cannot help but speculate as to who Diana will square off against as a part of her forthcoming adventure. Personally, I'd like to see DC introduce a Wonder Woman villain outside of the Greek pantheon, such as archeologist Barbara Ann Minerva a.k.a. Cheetah or Dr. Psycho.

Recently, a fan tweeted at WONDER WOMAN director Patty Jenkins, and remarked that Sarah Paulson or Charlize Theron would be “perfect” to cast as Cheetah in the Warner Bros. sequel. Paulson, who stars on the hit TV series AMERICAN HORROR STORY agreed by saying, “Yes please.” Next to her words, Paulson included the prayer hands emoji, adding a polite bit of groveling to her plea.

Created in 1987 by Len Wein and George Perez, Barbara Minerva was cursed with the powers of a cheetah after a failed ritual, and has since vowed to defeat Diana as a matter of pride. In the past, Cheetah has been known to fight both for and against Diana. The two have a complicated friendship to say the least.

What do you think of the idea of Cheetah appearing as the central villain of the WONDER WOMAN sequel? Is there perhaps another character in Diana's rogues gallery that you'd like to see instead? Let us know in the comments section below!

For the moment, we'll just have to wait and see what Jenkins and Gadot have planned for when WONDER WOMAN 2 storms into theaters beginning on Nov. 1, 2019.
