Why would I ever think that the days of PAUL BLART: MALL COP were behind us? I never met anyone who openly admitted to enjoying the film but many, many people went to see it (not surprised). The numbers are there. It made $146 million domestically.
So if you are a closeted PAUL BLART fan then it might it excite you to know that a new director will be boarding the sequel. Yes, a sequel. Andy Fickman (SHE’S THE MAN, THE GAME PLAN, YOU AGAIN) is in talks to direct the second installment which may or may not contain Segways. Kevin James will not only reprise his role but co-write the script with Nick Bakay.
There’s no hints on what the sequel will be about (not that you care) but I’m fairly certain there will be more mall hijinks. Personally, I’d rather have a sequel to OBSERVE AND REPORT over this. Why can’t Paul Blart be a closet psychopath?
