The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen will try its luck on the small screen

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I have to approach this subject with caution as I have found that there is a following for THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN film. Regardless of whether it’s the “cool” thing to say or not, I was not a fan of the 2003 adaptation from Stephen Norrington. While the fault lays more in the script (and a handful of other things) many say that they did the best with what they could.

No matter what your opinion it seems that Fox has ordered up a pilot of a LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN series. This means a re-teaming of Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Mina Murray, and Allan Quatermain. Michael Green (HEROES, SMALLVILLE, GREEN LANTERN) is on board to write and executive produce. Creators Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill will not serve in a producing capacity, and probably won’t join on for any roles. I’m sure Moore will be pissed off about it.

I think that the story is better served on the small screen, but will they handle it properly or will it become fun cheese? Should be interesting. Will have more as it develops.
