New Patriots Day trailer showcases the endurance of the human spirit

The more stuff I see for PATRIOTS DAY my excitement meter begins to go up higher and higher. The magnitude of the story and the intensity of the trailer hint at a gripping and engaging film, if not just technically, but emotionally as well. The trailers have done a good job at relaying much of the movie’s style and tone, with this new preview being no different as it uses interviews from the cast and real-life figures to talk about the endurance of the human spirit through such a trying experience.

LONE SURVIVOR and DEEPWATER HORIZON proved director Peter Berg can craft atmospheric, jarring tension, and tell a good story as the characters go through such profound, unreal experiences. PATRIOTS DAY seems like perfect material for such a skill, and early word of mouth says it's his best work (read Chris Bumbray’s review here!). Though it has yet to show-out at any awards, it has earned a spot on the coveted National Board of Review's Top 10 list, and could prove a late force to be reckoned with come its wide release in January 13. Never underestimate the power of The Wahlberg!
