Anyone interested in this new ANNIE adaptation?

I’m not exactly surprised that it was brought to the table to update. It’s something that fans of film and theater are familiar with. Geez, most kids these days actually know the song “Tomorrow” without even having seen the film. Though I’m not a massive fan of musicals, I do like some of the actors that will be starring in the project like Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, and Bobby Cannavale. Director Will Gluck also did a great job with EASY A. So there’s definitely a few pros here. Jay-Z?

The first teaser poster for the film as well as a new synopsis have made it online. There’s not much to say about the poster since it is a teaser but the synopsis on the other hand…it’s just kind of corny in that made for kids sort of way.

Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014. Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in.
