Marvel announces Ant-Man and The Wasp Blu-ray release date, special features

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Marvel Studios has had a massive year with the releases of two of the biggest movies ever – BLACK PANTHER and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – ending their year on a lighter note with ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. The end credits sequence was a kick in the gut, but the movie as a whole was a nice palate cleanser after the devastation on IW, and soon you can do as much cleansing as you want as Disney and Marvel have announced A&W’s Digital and Blu-ray release of October 2 and October 16.

Oh, and take a look at the cover with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly looking like a couple of badasses:

Marvel fever is at an all-time high right now, and the sequel was able to continue off the success of PANTHER and IW and soar over the box office total of the first ANT-MAN. Thanks to some outstanding reviews the movie was able to amass $214 million at the domestic box office, and it’s still doing business overseas and currently has raked in over $600 million worldwide. Those are big numbers for such tiny heroes. What does $600 million equate to in ant currency?

As I’ve done with every Marvel movie I’ll be nabbing this Blu-ray, thus expanding the collection to a nice, even 20 movies. ANT-MAN & THE WASP was a great entry int he franchise, but coming off the high of the two movies before left me feeling a tad underwhelmed. I’m anxious to revisit it and see how it stacks up to the first movie, as I left it in theaters feeling I could place them right next to each on my overall MCU ranking.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP hits Digital October 2 and Blu-ray October 16.
