The VACATION reboot is currently in production from HORRIBLE BOSSES screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldestein. Last month I shared with you some exciting casting news in regards to the movie that had Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day joining the mix. They would star alongside Ed Helms who is set to play a grown up Rusty Griswold in the reboot. Christina Applegate is set to play Rusty’s wife and Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will reprise their roles in a cameo.
News today has Leslie Mann playing the grown-up version of Audrey Griswold in the upcoming reboot. The cast of the reboot seems to be filling out nicely; I can’t say I’m excited for this movie just yet as I’m not sure I can handle another reboot right now. Ed Helms is said to be rebooting THE NAKED GUN series too! They don’t seem to be veering off into new territory here either, the new movie follows the adult Rusty as he takes his kids on a family trip similar to the one he took as a boy. I’m all for a comedic road movie, so I await to see something different from this one.
