Cory Michael Smith set to play Ridder on Fox’s Gotham

Cory Michael Smith is set to take on the role in Fox’s GOTHAM. Smith may not be a name that you are familiar with. The actor most recently starred on the stage alongside Emilia Clarke in the adaptation of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S. He can check him out next in CAMP X-RAY which stars Kristen Stewart, and premiered at this year’s Sundance.

Most of you may be well acquainted with Edward Nigma (but Nygma with a y for the show), but for those who are not, here’s a character description from the series:

Nygma is a brilliant young forensic scientist working for Gotham PD and a penchant for speaking in … rather cryptic language. Inquisitive, eccentric and outgoing — yet socially awkward — he wants to be liked, but he doesn’t quite know how.

Smith will come on the series as a guest star with the option to be a series regular. I haven’t seen Smith in any roles, so it’s a little too early to judge if he fits the character or not.

GOTHAM debuts this Fall on Fox.
