Jamie Foxx doesn’t think we’re ready for Taron Egerton’s Robin Hood film

Jamie Foxx Robin Hood Taron Egerton

I feel as though I've lost count of all the Robin Hood projects in development at the moment, but the first reimagining of the Robin Hood legend which we'll be setting our sights on will find Taron Egerton starring as the heroic outlaw. The upcoming ROBIN HOOD film will be a "gritty, revisionist take on the legend" which we've seen so many times before, but Jamie Foxx told Entertainment Weekly that ROBIN HOOD will be quite different; In fact, we might not even be ready for it. Gasp.

It’s different. It was directed by Otto Bathurst, who shot Peaky Blinders. The way they shot it was crazy, it looks like you’re watching Zero Dark Thirty. We’re shooting with our bows, but they computer-generated it so it’s rapid-fire, almost like an AK. I saw that and was like ‘Oh, they ain’t ready for this.'

Well, that's something which could either be really cool or really lame. When asked about ROBIN HOOD star Taron Egerton, Foxx had plenty of nice, albeit colourful, things to say. "Taron Egerton, man. He kills this sh–. He looks so great as Robin Hood, that f—ing jawline. Good-looking motherf—er." The Otto Bathurst flick also stars Jamie Foxx as Little John, Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham. ROBIN HOOD will hit theaters on March 23, 2018.

Jamie Foxx will next be seen in BABY DRIVER as Bats, the impulsive gun-slinging cohort of the bank robbing crew led by Doc (Kevin Spacey). The Edgar Wright film stars Ansel Elgort as a young and talented getaway driver named Baby who relies on the personal beat of his preferred soundtrack to be the best in the world of crime. BABY DRIVER is set for a June 28, 2017 release.
