Lady Bird soars with a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

LADY BIRD, the Greta Gerwig-directed coming-of-age drama starring Saoirse Ronan is flying high as of Monday morning, with the film boasting a perfect score of 100 percent on the reviewer aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. After nesting in theaters this past Friday, the film has been critiqued a total of 82 times, so far.

As a result of the overwhelmingly positive buzz, it should come as no surprise to hear that organizers will be eyeing LADY BIRD as a worthy contender for the upcoming awards season. After all, only five other films earned a perfect score from the popular site this year, including the titles: FACES PLACES, JANE, THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MAKI, TRUMAN, and BRIGHT LIGHTS.

In Greta Gerwig's LADY BIRD, Marion McPherson (Laurie Metcalf), a California nurse, works tirelessly to keep her family afloat after her husband loses his job. She also maintains a turbulent bond with a teenage daughter (Saoirse Ronan) who is just like her — loving, strong-willed and deeply opinionated.

LADY BIRD, which flew into theaters this past Friday, is now playing in select cinemas everywhere. If you've seen the movie, and would like to offer your opinion on it, feel free to leave a review in the comments section below.
