Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Preacher series based on the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comics of the same name won't premiere on AMC until next year, and according to Birth Movies Death, they are looking to bring another Ennis-penned comic to the small screen. The site is claiming that the due are out shopping an adaptation of Ennis and Darick Robertson's violent anti-superhero series The Boys to cable networks, and that Supernatural creator Eric Kripke is also involved with the potential television project.

The series ran for 72 issues (with the first six published by Wildstrom before it was picked up by Dynamite Entertainment), and follows a CIA squad known as "The Boys" who monitor superheroes and take them out if/when they misbehave.

Comic description from Amazon:

In a world where costumed heroes soar through the sky and masked vigilantes prowl the night, someone's got to make sure the "supes" don't get out of line. And someone will! Billy Butcher, Wee Hughie, Mother's Milk, The Frenchman, and The Female are The Boys: A CIA-backed team of very dangerous people, each one dedicated to the struggle against the most dangerous force on Earth – superpower! Some superheroes have to be watched. Some have to be controlled. And some of them – sometimes – need to be taken out of the picture. That's when you call in The Boys!

Adam McKay was in talks with Sony about a film adaptation of The Boys a few years ago, however that project is probably dead (or stuck in development hell) since there hasn't been any news about it for quite some time. Although I'm all for a live-action version of comic, I'm not completely sold on Rogen and Goldberg doing it, due to how far their Preacher might be deviating from the source material. But if the AMC series is a big hit, it could make it easier for them to get The Boys made, and we should probably wait and see how Preacher turns out first before getting too excited (or upset) about them possibly taking on a second Garth Ennis tale.
