Climb into the cockpit with Star Wars Resistance’s ace pilot intro video

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After getting acquainted with Team Fireball back in August, it's now time to meet the elite crew of specialized pilots who protect The Colossus platform as the Aces of STAR WARS RESISTANCE. Created by Dave Filoni, the anime-style show (set before the events of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS) will introduce fans of the extended Star Wars Universe to Kazuda Xiono (Christopher Sean), a young and scrappy hot-dogger recruited by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) for a Resistance mission of the upmost importance: infiltrate an aircraft-refueling station on a nearby water planet dubbed the Colossus, and keep a keen eye on the First Order, a band of dastardly villains looking to rule the universe with an iron grip.

Up next on the tarmac is Torra Doza (Myrna Velasco), a young pilot with a flair for color and a zest for keeping things light and breezy in a universe at war with itself. As an Ace, Torra Doza is a demon in the cockpit, and is more than willing to serve as an esteemed and irreplaceable member of the Resistance.

On the other side of the spectrum, we have Major Vonreg (Lex Lang), a First Order TIE pilot who sports a crimson spacecraft to match his blood red flight suit. With his old school mentality, Major Vonreg isn't afraid to bend the rules if it means geting the job done, and done quickly.

Moving on down the line, we find Hype Fazon (Donald Faison) an iron-willed and brash Rodian braggart, who despite being full of himself, is always ready to do what's best for the team. There's also Griff Halloran (Stephen Stanton), a rough-and-tumble ex-TIE pilot, Freya Fenris (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn), a fierce woman whose isn't shy about kicking some ass, and last but certainly not least, Bo Keevil, a soft-spoken Kel Dor pilot capable of running laps around the competition with his lightning-fast yellow racer.

“When you see movies like ‘The Right Stuff,’ it really connects with you because you know people like that in your life, these pilots who have a really unique sense of confidence,” says Filoni, who executive produces alongside Athena Portillo, Justin Ridge and Brandon Auman.

The one-hour series premiere of STAR WARS RESISTANCE will make its debut on October 7th on Disney Channel (10 p.m. ET/PT) and DisneyNOW. Two additional new episodes will be available via the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD, giving kids and families access to the series wherever and whenever they want to watch.

You can learn a whole lot more about the new team as well as what to expect when STAR WARS RESISTANCE takes flight by watching the video posted above. May the Force be with you all, always.
