Netflix’s new movie THE KING is shaping up to be an unmissable epic drama, fit with a starring role for Oscar nominee and the internet’s new obsession, Timothee Chalamet. The young talent will be joined by an impressive ensemble of actors as Netflix has announced that Robert Pattinson (TWILIGHT, GOOD TIME), Ben Mendelsohn (ROGUE ONE), Lily-Rose Depp (YOGA HOSERS), Sean Harris (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5 & 6) and more will flesh out the main cast.

Production has begun on the epic inspired by the William Shakespeare plays “Henry IV” and “Henry V”, which find Chalamet’s Hal taking up the throne as king after the death of his brother. Pattinson will play The Dauphin, a French prince, while Mendelsohn, Depp, and Harris will play Henry IV and Princess Catherine, and William, respectively.

Also joining the cast are Tom Glynn-Carney (DUNKIRK) and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (LEAVE NO TRACE) as Hotspur and Philippa.

As previously announced, Joel Edgerton will be playing the young mentor to Hal, Falstaff, and he also penned the script with the movie’s director David Michôd. Michôd did last year’s WAR MACHINE starring Brad Pitt for Netflix, as well as 2010’s ANIMAL KINGDOM, which starred Mendelsohn and Edgerton.

Pitt's Plan B is producing the movie, which will get a 2019 release.
