J.R. Ramirez has joined the cast of Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 2

On Monday, Marvel and Netlfix had announced to Entertainment Weekly that POWER and ARROW alum J.R. Ramirez is joining the cast of JESSICA JONES Season 2. With his John Handcock on the dotted line, Ramirez is poised to step onto the program as a series regular named Oscar, a devoted single father who moves into Jessica’s (Krysten Ritter) building as the new superintendent. While his young son is rather keen on Jessica and her powers, Oscar keeps the hero at a distance, fearful of what manner of trouble follows people like her. Um, dude, if you were worried about people with powers like Jessica Jones, why did you agree to manage the building in the first place, let alone live there? I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

In voicing her enthusiasm for the casting, executive producer Mellisa Rosenberg said, “J.R. is an incredible addition to our cast, bringing complex and subtle emotion and humor. He exudes warmth, edge and intelligence, and blends perfectly with our tone.”

I don't know about you, but I am so ready to watch some more JESSICA JONES. After having seen the first four episodes of THE DEFENDERS, recently, it hit me like a super-powered punch to the breadbasket how much I missed JJ's snark, awkward social skills, and witty one-liner insults. Personally, I think the character is at her comedic best when she's taking the piss out of IRON FIST's Danny Rand. Don't worry, you'll be able to laugh along with me soon enough, as Marvel and Netflix THE DEFENDERS launches in-full on August 18th.

As for the second season of JESSICA JONES, Krysten Ritter and Patsy will be hitting the streets of Hell's Kitchen some time in 2018.
