Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Laurie sign on to join Will Ferrell in Holmes and Watson

Oscar-nominated actor Ralph Fiennes and Emmy Award-winning Hugh Laurie will find themselves walking the streets of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s London as they join jokesters Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly for a comedic caper in upcoming film HOLMES AND WATSON. Directed and written by Etan Cohen, Sony’s sleuthy satire will find Ferrell in the role of literature’s greatest detective and Reilly playing the part of Sherlock’s studious confidant, Dr. Watson.

HOLMES AND WATSON will mark the third time Ferrell and Reilly have partnered for an outrageous comedy, after having laughed, argued, and fought their way through TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY and STEP BROTHERS. There’s no official word as to what character’s polished shoes Fiennes and Laurie will step into, though with their combined star power, I wouldn’t be surprised if we find them taking on the roles of Sherlock’s dutiful brother, Mycroft, and the deductive reasoning detective’s arch nemesis, Moriarty. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

HOLMES AND WATSON is expected to spy its way into theaters sometime in the year 2018, and will star actors Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Laurie, Rebecca Hall, and Lauren Lapkus.
