This column on the DVD CLINIC asks
YOU to be participate and yes, ladies and germs….SHOW US YOUR
SHIT!!
If you’ve got a cool collection of DVDs, movie posters, toys, comic books, figurines, an awesome home theater set-up that you just have to share with the rest of the world of movie nerds who reside on this very site, this column is for you! Just read the requirements below and drop us a line at [email protected] with pics, videos and commentary about your nifty stuff and your collection might be the next one up here.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Please include any basic personal info on yourself, so others could know who the f*ck you are. Age, sex, geographical location, what you do in life, etc….

2) Take some pictures or videos of any cool shit you have in your pad, and send it along with your message to us. Make sure that every picture/video is explained and you don’t just send us a bunch of pics and say “Here’s my shit!”, cause that’s not what we’re looking for. We need some words attached to the pics, what they are, where you might’ve got it, shit like that.

3) Try and zone in on a couple of your FAVORITE AND UNIQUE ITEMS and point those out as well. If possible, let our readers know WHERE you might’ve bought them, etc…

Name: Chris Davies-Rowan

Where: Victoria, BC

Age: 26

Job: Line Cook

My name is Chris Davies-Rowan and I live in Victoria, BC in Canada. I’m a 26 year old Line Cook of 6 years and I only make 20,000 or less a YEAR! That’s monetary dedication to my Geekdom! I’ve been collecting shit since I could sit up, starting with dubbed tapes from TV and dupes from the old rental store. I seriously started buying and collecting when I was in the 10th grade of High School and have dedicated at least 30-40% of my income to my collection since I started working!

This is my entertainment set-up. The choice came down to a huge t.v. and a console, or a moderate T.V. and ALL consoles. As you can see, I went with the latter. 27′ Samsung still ain’t bad. Consoles: Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii

This is my games and such shelf (no order). The middle two DVD shelves are Discs I haven’t watched yet! I have about 200 games on multiple systems. Top 2 DVD shelves are comedies, Docs, and TV mostly.

Unwatched Discs….seen most of the ‘A’ movies in theatre, just haven’t gotten around to spinnin’ the discs.

Zatoichi posters

This is a custom pencil drawn Conan piece a friend of my dad drew when I was a kid. REALLY COOL

Top right of the main ‘tower’: a LOT of 70s tough guy shit, geek sets (LOTR, Indy, Star wars) Coens shit, Herzog/Kinski box etc…

Top Left of ‘tower’: HORROR/EXPLOITATION! LOTS of 70s Giallo and Grindhouse stuff, Carpenter, ILSA collection, Jodorowski set, Dirty Harry, Kubrick, Mondo Cane collection, Alien Quadrilogy, Bava set etc. (a LOT of stuff is blocked by other stuff, I’m only just noticing now!)

By FAR my favourite shelf: Asian collection includes: lots of Pinky Violence flicks, Yakuza films (KINJI FUKASAKU is GOD!) Samurais Galore! Full run of Lone Wolf and Cub films, 21 Zatoichis! Hanzo the Razor! Kurosawa! Lady Snowblood! Teruo Ishii! Sister Streetfighter collection! Chan-Wook Park! OH MY!!!…gives me the vapours!
