There's someone who sits there and decides which clip from a movie to be released in order to generate the most interest. If it's a comic book flick, an piece of an action scene will do. If it's a comedy, obviously some jokes are thrown in there. In regards to drama, that could be a little tricky, but the following seems a bit much to be just a coincidence.

SOUTHPAW tells the riveting story of Billy "The Great" Hope (Jake Gyllenhaal), and this clip centers on his lifelong friend and manager played by 50 Cent. I'm not sure if you've kept up with recent affairs, but word on the (Wall) street is that Curtis James Jackson III doesn't have a cent to his name. The man recently filed for personal bankruptcy protection. If the following clip has any truth to it, now we know why.

The clips we've seen thus far are keen on showing Rachel McAdams, which leads me to believe that they're only giving away the beginning of the flick (not that the rest is any mystery). In any case, there's one person audiences are itching to see in this one and that's the Gyllenhaal. May he not forever reside beside Leonardo DiCaprio in the realm of great roles and little Academy appreciation. Amen.

SOUTHPAW will open in theaters on July 24, 2015.
