Gainesville, Georgia-born Korean actor Sung Kang, best known for his role as Han Seoul-Oh of the FAST & FURIOUS franchise has just signed on to join cousins Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell in the science-fiction thriller CODE 8.

Directed by Jeff Chan (DANDY LIONS, THE APOSTLES) and poised to begin shooting in Toronto by mid-July, CODE 8 is set in a world where 4% of the population is born with varying supernatural abilities, but rather than be billionaires or superheroes, most “specials” face discrimination and live in poverty, and often resort to crime. The smoke on the street is that Kang will play Agent Park, the head honcho of a militarized police unit, while Robbie Amell will step into the role of Connor Reed, a powerful young man struggling to afford his mother's expensive health treatments. Joining Kang and Amell in the super powered thriller will be Stephen Amell, who's signed on to command the role of Garrett, the leader of a criminal organization that pays good money for bad deeds done well. Additionally, Kari Matchett, Greg Bryk and Aaron Abrams will be joining the film's cast as well.

Robbie and Stephen Amell are executive producing along with Lee Kim and Mary Anne Waterhouse with the film aiming for a 2019 release.
