The Predator is desperate for acting gigs in Late Late Show sketch

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The Predator is one of the most recognizable movie monsters in history, what with the mandibles and the dreds that hang like bananas from a tree. Such recognizability comes at a cost, and the actor known as “Predator” (real name Howard Goldschwartz) is having a tough time breaking out of the mold as the blood-thirsty alien. All he wants to do is show off his range as a real actor, and in a sketch from THE LATE LATE SHOW WTH JAMES CORDEN, we get to watch him on his inspiring yet hopeless journey.

“I’ve been doing this a long time now, and it’s not like I’m not grateful for my career, I am,” Predator (James Corden) says to the camera. “But I want to prove I can be more than the perfect killing machine. I have so much more to offer.”

THE PREDATOR actors Keegan-Michael Key and Olivia Munn offer their two cents on why he can’t get more roles, citing both his noticeable face appendages and his obnoxious Austin Powers impression. He does get one shot, though, when he goes to a casting call to play another screen icon – James Bond. If you ever wanted to see The Predator walk the red carpet in a nice tux, this is about as close as you’re gonna get.

Oh well, this is the life of an artist, and if you're ever in LA and see an alien creature working at a restaurant or spinning a sign, just know he's an actor waiting to show the world what he's got. And, trust me, it's more than metal claws and a shoulder gun…just not much more.
