See the first three minutes of The Emoji Movie

THE EMOJI MOVIE still feels like an elaborate MADTv sketch to me (and not even a particularly clever one). But, alas, it exists, and I'm just going to have to accept it. The abyss is staring back at me, indeed. Hell, it even has an overly-qualified celebrity cast, which is a mainstay of those kind of satirical sketches. This one includes the likes of T.J. Miller , Patrick Stewart ,...

The Emoji Movie is still a thing that exists and has released a new trailer

Contrary to popular belief, I don't like hating things. Mainly because I have high blood-pressure as it is, but also it's always better to like things and be happy (though if I were an emoji, it'd probably be an angry face one). However, while I'm trying to stay positive and keep an open mind (for instance, I was the first person to shit on THE LEGO MOVIE trailers, but...

Producer confirms The Fast and the Furious series to end at number 10

I'll give the FAST AND FURIOUS series this much: I love the diversity of the cast. I also love how the series focuses on family (to an almost comical degree), since it is refreshing to see a franchise that doesn't have a protagonist bedding a different pretty lady each movie, even if there isn't anything inherently wrong with that. It's just nice to have variety....

CG animated sci-fi kid's film Spark: A Space Tail releases clip and trailer

So there's a new animated film coming out called SPARK: A SPACE TAIL about a space monkey who must stop a goofy monkey dictator with his two pals - a DeviantArt ready fox lady and a Dr. Moreau-esque pig abomination - in some far off sci-fi dystopian kingdom. Also Patrick Stewart is in there somewhere. Anyway, without further ado, here's a clip and trailer from...

Fate of the Furious & Lord of the Rings now share something - a long runtime

I'm still mad that the official title of the film - the one on the posters and trailers - isn't F8 OF THE FURIOUS. Because, I mean, that's the whole reason you named it that !!! Come on! But I digress...The film itself looks suitably epic, as befitting the ever-growing franchise. Large cast, huge explosions, insane stunts. The works. But...

A Dog's Purpose pre-sales strong, despite controversy

A DOG'S PURPOSE seems destined for the Wal-Mart $5 bin, as its premise is so mauldin and schlocky, it's almost like a bad SIMPSONS spoof of these types of films. And there's obviously a dedicated audience for this kind of shit (and who am I to judge, I've seen BIRDEMIC thirty times), so more power to them. However, it seems that the core audience would be animal lovers,...

Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover talk about getting cast as Han and Lando

Being cast as younger versions of nerd icons must be nerve-wracking. I know I couldn't do it (then again, I look like Comic-Book Guy from THE SIMPSONS, so they wouldn't cast me anyway). But that's the task being laid in front of Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover , playing a young Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, respectively.  In an interview in the aptly-titled...

Fast and Furious director Justin Lin to direct Hot Wheels movie

I can't imagine being in Justin Lin 's shoes. You jumpstarted one of the most (preposterously) successful franchises of the decade with the FAST AND THE FURIOUS series, and just directed the critically-acclaimed STAR TREK BEYOND, which was a childhood dream of yours. So what's next for you, when it seems the world is your oyster? HOT WHEELS? Um, okay Lin. You do...

New Max Steel poster released to keep reminding people that it exists

MAX STEEL is a thing that is happening, whether we like it or not. Based on an action figure line from Mattel in the early '00s that no one remembers, the movie is blasting its way onto the big-screen. Obviously a potential franchise starter, the film follows the eponymous Max Steel as he finds some sort of alien-suit-GUYVER bullshit and fights aliens or something. He also has an...
