Go behind the scenes of an emergency landing in the IMAX trailer for Sully

Clint Eastwood‘s latest picture tells the story of Chesley Sullenberger, who became a hero after gliding his plane along the water in the Hudson River, saving all of the airplane flights 155 crew and passengers. Most people know that tidbit of information, but what they don’t know was the investigation that took place afterward, looking to place blame on Sully for his actions. Tom Hanks portrays the captain under fire in this IMAX trailer for SULLY.

While I find Eastwood to be a very “straightforward” director, he knows how to pick his leading men and you can’t get much more charismatic than Tom Hanks. Heroic stories make for great films, but few of those really jump into the politics of the aftermath. With that said, I’m curious to see how the drama fares after the famed crash takes place in the film. I’m definitely getting a FLIGHT vibe from this (maybe not as ballsy), but that’s a good thing in my book.

SULLY will open in theaters on September 9, 2016.
