Jon Bernthal says “F*@% them,” with regard to Alt-Right Punisher fans

Jon Bernthal, who plays Marvel's gruff and gritty anti-hero Frank Castle in Netflix's THE PUNISHER, has a few things he'd like to get off his chest. Recently, Bernthal participated in an interview wtih Esquire, where he shared his thoughts on Castle's standing within gun control debates, and the intermittent (but repeated) use of his character's iconic emblem.

Rather than tip-toe around the sensitive issues at hand, Bernthal told Esquire, “Should there be a way that a guy with mental issues like the asshole in Texas can’t get guns? Absolutely,” He then continued, "We have to have a dialogue, and that’s not happening. I feel honored to play a guy who people putting their life on the line identify with." Before exiting the topic, Bernthal delivered a blunt message to members of the Alt-Right community who've recently been seen using The Punisher's emblem as a symbol for their unified strength. Without mincing his words, THE WALKING DEAD alum simply stated, "Fuck them."

You can see more of Bernthal's forthrightness when he stars as Frank Castle in Netflix's THE PUNISHER, which is availble to stream right now. Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Paul Schulze, and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio also star in the grisly revenge action drama series lifted right from the pages of classic Marvel comics.
