Charlize Theron developing drama called The Clan about the Scots repelling Viking invaders

The world doesn’t have enough fictional media material about Vikings, really. It’s as simple as that. Thankfully someone of Charlize Theron’s stature realized this hole in the current world of cinematic storytelling, and so has begun to take steps towards rectifying this sad fact with a drama she’s producing for ABC called “The Clan.”

And she’s not doing it alone either – Terry George (HOTEL RWANDA, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER) will also be along for the ride in the capacities of writing/directing/executive producing, which is pretty smashing as the guy has several Oscar nominations for writing and adapting both RWANDA and FATHER.  “The Clan” will be produced under Theron’s Denver and Delilah company banner, one which also covers NBC’s “Holiday” and a planned modern-day update to the story of “Hatfields and McCoys,” and “is described as a sweeping drama set in the Highlands of medieval Scotland, where the great clans battle one another — and the Viking invaders.”

Now while I’m very happy indeed at the thought of a series-long drama about Scots battling Scots and Scots battling Vikings, that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of room for silliness and error.  So what are some elements that you think Theron and George need to make sure they nail in order to bring true greatness to “The Clan?”
