Liam Neeson has a life-altering decision to make in The Commuter trailer

If a stranger offered you $75,000 to profoundly affect the life of a perfect stranger, would you do it? Oh, you want details? Sorry, that's not the way this game is played. In order to acquire the money, you must search among a group of individuals, find the one that you believe does not belong, and then out them to your mysterious benefactor. Could you perform this task without knowing the consequences of your actions? That's a question that Liam Neeson's Michael Woolrich will have to ask himself as he is forced to engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse in THE COMMUTER trailer.

In Jaume Collet-Serra's newest action film, the ORPHAN, NON-STOP and THE SHALLOWS director will helm a high-velocity action thriller that tells the story of a businessman who is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute home. Joining Neeson on his commute from hell are stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Killian Scott, Jonathan Banks, Sam Neil, Elizabeth McGovern and Florence Pugh. Each of them will play a key role in a series of events that threaten to change the landscape of Michael Woolrich's seemingly work-a-day life forever.

Recently, Liam Neeson announced that he's retiring from the action filmmaking business, and yet, here we are! While THE COMMUTER looks to be a "by-the-numbers" action romp to me personally, Neeson has proven time and again that he's got the skills to make high-stress, family-in-jeopardy thrillers such as this worth the price of admission. As to Neeson's proclamation of not wanting to be involved in any future action films, I can support that as well. In the past, certain stars have been oblivious to the idea that perhaps they're getting "too old for this shit," and I'd like to give a tip of my hat to Neeson for having the foresight to hang up his action star running shoes before allowing that to happen.

What do you think of THE COMMUTER trailer? Would you play the game and take the money? Let us know how you'd roll in the comments section below.
