Hugh Jackman recommends Tom Hardy as his Wolverine replacement

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Hugh Jackman‘s time as Wolverine is coming to an end.

Having confirmed that the third solo WOLVERINE movie will be his last time donning the claws, it’s bound to happen sooner rather than later that 20th Century Fox starts shopping around for the next actor who’ll be tasked with keeping the beloved mutant alive for a few new movies.

I don’t imagine it’ll be Dougray Scott, so who could possibly take on the role?

Hugh Jackman has an idea for once, making his recommendation for who might make a good replacement once he finally decides to hang his Logan boots up.

I haven’t really given it a lot of thought. I’ve been asked that question a lot, and I’m always like, ‘I don’t wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,’ you know? I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.’ He’s younger than me for sure. I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.

This doesn’t mean that Hardy has any inside track on the role. But it is just an interesting thought that the guy who has embodied Wolverine for 15+ years and seven films sees Tom Hardy as one with the chops to carry the torch once it is ready to be passed.

Tom Hardy for Wolverine – yay or nay?
