Maze Runner: The Death Cure shuts down production as Dylan O’Brien injured

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The third chapter of THE MAZE RUNNER series has been put on the shelf for the time being, now that production on THE DEATH CURE has been halted after star Dylan O’Brien was injured on set. As the central figure of the series, the protagonist Thomas, O’Brien is involved in a great deal of the film’s shooting, and, until he’s healthy once again, the film looks as if it’s going to sit around and wait patiently for him.

20th Century Fox released a statement in regards to the on-set incident that reads as follows:

Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in Vancouver, Canada.   He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment.  Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.

It’s always unfortunate when things like this occur, but accidents do indeed happen. We wish O’Brien a speedy recovery as well and hope he is on the road to feeling better with the quickness.
