Captain Spaulding lines up for newest Three From Hell teaser poster

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

As Rob Zombie continues to cut and carve his way through the post-production process for his third Firefly family film THREE FROM HELL, the theatrical rocker turned acclaimed horror film maker has unleashed a new character poster featuring Sid Haig as the malevolent Captain Spaulding. With no makeup to mask his weathered expression, the image shows Spaulding lining up for the law and "smiling" for what I'm sure is his latest and greatest mugshot.

You can check out the new teaser poster below:

When the Firefly clan returns, Sheri Moon Zombie and Bill Moseley will reprise their roles as Vera-Ellen “Baby” Firefly and Otis Driftwood, with Sid Haig also set to return as the devilishly clever Captain Spaulding. Meanwhile, other horror icons and actors will fill out the ensemble cast as Jeff Daniel Phillips (LORDS OF SALEM) prepares for his role as Warden Virgil Dallas Harper, Danny Trejo (MACHETE) for his part as Rondo, Clint Howard (APOLLO 13) as Mr. Baggy Britches, with Richard Brake (KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE), Dee Wallace (CRITTERS, THE HOWLING) and Austin Stoker (ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13) each taking on undisclosed roles.

Haig's Captain Spaulding was first introduced as the proprietor of a roadside tourist attraction in Zombie's HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES. In the film, a group of unwitting travelers expressed interest in exploring the local lore of Dr. Satan, to which Spaulding then pointed them in the direction of the murderous Firefly family. Spaulding then returned for THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, a delightfully violent road movie the likes of BADLANDS and THE WILD BUNCH. After an absurd amount of chaos and bloodshed, audiences were led to believe that Sapulding, Baby and Otis died in a hail of gunfire as they drove head-long into a law enforecement blockade.

Since the announcement of THREE FROM HELL, Zombie has been leaking photos of the Firefly family members in police custody. Obviously, the trio survived their encounter with the fuzz and will live to kill another day.

THREE FROM HELL is expected to arrive sometime in 2019.
