Meet Kelly Overton.
She'll be your new Van Helsing for the foreseeable future, landing the title role of the Syfy series of the same name for the show's 13-episode first season run, announced late last year, that'll be hitting the cable airwaves whenever it's ready. For VAN HELSING, Overton will be playing Vanessa Helsing (See… They stayed true to the namesake), a descendant of the legendary vampire hunter who must lead the fight against a world controlled by bloodsuckers in order to give humanity a chance.
Overton is probably best known for her role as the werewolf Rikki Naylor on HBO's TRUE BLOOD during its cable run, but she was also a player on TNT's LEGENDS and had a recurring role on The CW's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
Also joining the cast of VAN HELSING are Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Paul Johansson, David Cubitt and Tim Guinee, with more to come.
