“I’ve come so far. I’m not turning back. After all I’ve sacrificed, I have to wonder, what will I become?”

-Lara Croft

Eidos Montréal and Crystal Dynamics debuted the new trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider today, which depicts a seasoned Lara Croft venturing toward a Mayan temple, where a ritualistic cult is readying their latest sacrafice. The studio rebooted Ms. Croft in 2013 with the release of the Tomb Raider, then sent her on another wayfaring adventure in 2015 with Rise of the Tomb Raider. After honing her skills throughout the first two games in the series, the British-born archaeologist who knows her way around a bow is back – and she's here to put an end to an oncoming apocalypse.

Voicing the character, once again, is Camilla Luddington. As Lara traverses underwater caverns and treacherous jungle landscapes, she'll also find herself deciphering intricate puzzles, as she looks to uncover mysteries along her latest expedition. In the trailer, we see Lara using a series of stealth attacks to take her enemies off the board, including a very Dutch-like technique of using mud to blend in with her surroundings. That's right, my friends, Lara's about to go full-Predator for the latest chapter of her rebooted video game series.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is set for a September 14th release on the Xbox One family of devices, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC/Stream. Those who decide to pre-order the game will have the opportunity to play it 48 hours before everyone else, depending on which edition is purchased.
