The Defenders are going down in new viral promo

All of the Marvel characters that make up The Defenders – Daredevil, (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – have gotten their solo outings, and are finally ready to form the super team of super friends this fall. We still have a way to go before we see any footage of the program, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a few nice things along the way, like this little ditty here featuring the gang in some sort of pulley-operated electrical, steel box.

The gang looks like they’ve possibly outrun a fight, as they look tired and on-edge. They’re all wearing some gear we saw them don early in their solo runs: Murdock (Daredevil) has his eye-covering bandana, Cage has his bullet-drenched hoodie, Jones in her leather jacket and Rand (Iron Fist) in his…suit. There’s kind of a quirky vibe here, so I can imagine that will persist throughout the show. However, a neat little takeaway is the hidden release date. When Jones smashes the camera it stops at the time 08:18:20:17. That translates to August 18, 2017. On top of that, another series of numbers leads to a viral site for the show. Easter eggs for the win!
