Robin Wright and Naomi Watts have a strange relationship with each other’s sons in Two Mothers

Happy Valentine’s Day! What better way to get in the spirit than this trailer for TWO MOTHERS starring Robin Wright and Naomi Watts.

I’m not going to lie. It basically looks like the makings of a Greek tragedy. Oedipus it ain’t, but it’s still a little strange. Why do I say that? Well, in the trailer, two mothers (Watts and Wright) are living in Australia with their teenage boys who grew up together. One day one of the sons decides to sleep with the other one’s mom. The moms fall in love with the sons, but when it comes down to it both their teenage lovers are just that– teenagers. They have no idea what they want in life. The moms have hit that sexual peak and are ready to get it with some young meat, but get it all mixed up by throwing their emotions into it. I have no idea why I’m analyzing it this much.

Apparently the film was panned at Sundance this year with the audience laughing and what not. Nice, huh?

Synopsis: This gripping tale of love, lust and the power of friendship charts the unconventional and passionate affairs of two lifelong friends who fall in love with each other’s sons.
