It's been announced that NBC has given a series order to the superhero workplace comedy Powerless. The series takes place in the DC Comics universe, and stars Vanessa Hudgens as Emily, a "spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes.”

The show also stars Alan Tudyk (Firefly) as Del, Emily's new boss in the claims department and "a self-proclaimed 'rich, over-educated globetrotting wastrel,'" while other cast members include Danny Pudi (Community) as Emily's best friend and co-worker, and Christina Kirk (Manhattan, A to Z) as Jackie, "a massive superhero fan who work as Del's assistant."

Bellow you'll find additional details on the storyline of the pilot episode, as well as the first offiical images from the series. Are you interested in checking out Powerless?

It’s when Emily stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult ‘hero’ in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.
