New posters for Cloud Atlas, Silver Linings Playbook, and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D

To round out this week in movie news, here are some new posters to whet your appetite for the upcoming Fall film releases.

First up, courtesy of Fandango is the new poster for SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. The David O. Russell film has a quirky, fun trailer that features Robert De Niro in what could be his first performance of the year that doesn’t suck.

Plot: Life doesn’t always go according to plan…Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything — his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat’s parents want is for him to get back on his feet – and to share their family’s obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives..

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK opens in theaters on November 21st.

Next up is the one sheet for SILENT HILL REVELATION 3D. I caught a lot of flack for including this sequel in my Top Fall Movies list over the next RESIDENT EVIL. But, really, how many people are looking forward to the fifth entry in that schlock-fest? At least the first SILENT HILL had a unique look and was pretty disturbing visually.

This poster seems pretty boring in comparison to the original film’s poster. Plus, it doesn’t quite give non-SILENT HILL fans the impetus to check out the movie.

SILENT HILL REVELATION 3D hits theaters on October 26th.

Lastly, we have a low res look at the new CLOUD ATLAS poster which brings together all of the characters in a nice composite shot. I may be on my own, but everything from CLOUD ATLAS has me excited for this movie. I cannot wait until October 26th! to see if the Wachowskis and Tykwer pulled off this feat.
