Chris Hemsworth in negotiations to suit up for Men in Black spinoff

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After sharing a major parenting win with all of the internet, Chris Hemsworth is in the news again as The Hollywood Reporter says that the Marvel action star is in early negotiations to star in Sony's MEN IN BLACK sci-fi comedy spinoff. On board to arm agents with cool alien weaponry and neuralizer devices is F. Gary Gray, who will direct the spinoff based on a script written by IRON MAN writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.

Rather than retread old ground, Sony's MEN IN BLACK spinoff will feature a new cast of characters, and expand upon the zany alien-filled world presented to audiences in the original film trilogy starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. According to sources close to the show, the new MIB adventure will take place in London, England and will feature a combination of characters that include a white character, a black woman, and an older man. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, who produced the original film are set to return as producers, while Steven Spielberg will enter the project as an executive producer.

What do you think about Chris Hemsworth stepping into the MEN IN BLACK universe? Does he have what it takes to lead the charge in bringing the franchise back in a major way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
