Does this first full look at an upcoming villain for Arrow stroke you the right way?

Arrow long poster

Teased rather fantastically several months back (in what was technically a screen shot from the premiere episode), a complete first full-on look at an upcoming villain for The CW’s “Arrow” has been revealed in advance of the character’s appearance on Episode 5 (titled DAMAGED).

It goes without saying that there are a few spoilers here if you want to be completely surprised by who the character is or the take elected by The CW, so tread warily if you’re dead-set on maintaining the momentum of the show’s mystery.  You ready? You still here? You still want the look?

Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke the Terminator, was introduced in The New Teen Titans back in 1980.  He swiftly became so popular that he received his comic in 1991 which, though cancelled within sixty issues, nonetheless proves that right from the start this villain struck a chord of interest in DC’s audience.  A soldier who was forged in the terrible napalm fires of Vietnam, both in terms of morals and skills, Deathstroke was the recipient of special powers due to army experimentation.  Now while I’ve never read any comics involving Deathstroke, I did watch the show “Teen Titans” growing up – and let me tell you, Deathstroke (just called Slade there) was one fearsome foe indeed.  I’m very much looking forward to seeing just what the creators of “Arrow” are going to do with him.

Add on that note, here’s that first full look at the guy that I’ve been touting:

They’re sticking very close to the comics on this one – what do you think? And furthermore, what do you think about the show “Arrow” as a whole?
