This trailer for Getaway has Ethan Hawke playing a dangerous game in a fast car

If you were one of the few who weren’t scared away after that opening then I’ll warn up that the rest of this isn’t going to much better.

The first trailer for GETAWAY has debuted and it is something to behold. Remember those pictures we saw of Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez in a movie together? This is that movie. Sorry to disappoint that it wasn’t 1994s THE GETAWAY with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger or the original version from 1972 with Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw. Actually, this is kind of the opposite of all that.

Hawke must play a game from behind the wheel of car if he ever wants to see his wife again. Do what the crazy man says or else. Then in the middle of it, Gomez tries to steal the car at gunpoint and obviously that doesn’t work out. The crazy guy makes Hawke take off with Gomez and tells him to kill her. Nothing good can come of this…and nothing does. I love Hawke, but WHY???

Synopsis: Getaway is the gritty, heart-pounding action thriller from Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment in which former race car driver Brent Magna (Ethan Hawke) is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Selena Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.
