John C. Reilly joins Colin Farrell in the dystopian love story The Lobster

It is said you can't judge a book by its cover, however you also shouldn't judge a movie by its title. You might think THE LOBSTER is a new animated movie, or about a hitman with a terrible nickname based on the title alone, but the upcoming film has a pretty fascinating premise, and has been described as a "dystopian love story."

Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, Ben Whishaw, Léa Seydoux (THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR) and Olivia Colman (HOT FUZZ, Peep Show) star in THE LOBSTER, and Deadline has learned there are several other actors who recently joined the project. John C. Reilly will also appear in THE LOBSTER, as well as Ashley Jensen (HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, Extras), Michael Smiley (THE WORLD'S END, Spaced, Black Mirror) and Jessica Barden (HANNA).

The film will follow, "a desperate man who breaks with the rules of The City where single people are arrested and obliged to find a matching mate in 45 days at The Hotel. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choosing and released into The Woods," and Yorgos Lanthimos (ALPS, DOGTOOTH) will be making his English language debut with THE LOBSTER.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm very interested in learning more about THE LOBSTER. Lanthimos has directed some great stuff in the past, and that's one hell of a cast he has lined up for his new movie. This news also gives me an excuse to post sexy pics of Rachel Weisz, which is always a win.

THE LOBSTER doesn't have a release date, but will probably be out later this year, or early 2015.
